Wayne A. Waggoner, 71, of Oblong, IL passed away at his residence on Wednesday March 1, 2017 at 7:59 A.M.
Wayne was born on March 2, 1945 in Lawrenceville, IL to Ralph and Lola Ellen (Hill) Waggoner. On March 20, 1965 he married Jackie (Parkhill) Waggoner, who survives. Wayne attended Robinson Schools and was a member of Prior Grove Baptist Church. Wayne worked at Texaco for 18 years before working for Oblong Unit 4 School District as a custodian from 1987 until his retirement in March of 2006. He also helped Gene Dart and Harold Wartsbaugh with farming. Wayne enjoyed trapping, hunting and fishing.
Wayne is survived by his wife Jackie Waggoner of Oblong, IL; two daughters and sons-in-law Waynette and Jimmy Rogers, Oblong, IL and Sheri and Robert Alexander, Newton, IL; four grandchildren James Rogers and Fiancé Kenzie Andrews, Willow Hill, IL, Jesse Rogers, Oblong, IL, Jasper Rogers, Oblong, IL and Austin Alexander, Newton, IL. Wayne is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law Larry and Kaye Waggoner, Robinson, IL, Darrell “Red” and Peg Waggoner, Palestine, IL; two sisters Lorretta Foust and Karen Waggoner of Robinson, IL; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Rex and Melva Parkhill, Oblong, IL and Harold and Roanna Wartsbaugh, Oblong, IL along with several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Alrex and Helen Parkhill.
